Using coconut in your milk bath is a cheap and easy way to help yourself relax while keeping your skin healthy. This simple herbal recipe is made up of all-natural ingredients which are great for anyone who has sensitive skin or is addicted to skin care! This recipe contains two of my favorite ingredients too – lavender and coconut.
Why am I so obsessed with these ingredients? They do wonders for your health and your skin. Lavender can be used to soothe your aching muscles and joints. In addition, it helps relieve skin irritations, clear acne, heal burns, bruises, and even scars. It’s also been proven to reduce anxiety and stress as well as aiding sleep. It’s an all-natural herb that has been used for over 2,500 years which is why I love using it in my bath!
I also love that coconut is in this herbal bath milk. Coconut is naturally anti-bacterial so you’ll be clean as ever after using this recipe. Another benefit of Coconut is that it helps to fight skin infections – a HUGE help to anyone who suffers from chronic fungal infections such as eczema or athlete’s foot (tinea pedis.)
I tried out this bath milk as I love any skincare product containing herbs. I mixed it into the bath and hopped in. I stayed in the bath for around half an hour – the longer you stay in the softer and more refreshed your skin will feel. The smell made me SO tired, luckily I didn’t fall asleep! When I got out, pretty drowsy from the lavender smell I was shocked by the results. My skin felt baby soft and I smelt wonderful – not too strong but just enough so that it’s pleasant! After a quick shower this morning I still have a feint smell of the herbs me.
All you need for this simple lavender DIY coconut milk bath recipe is:
- 1/2 cup of dried lavender flowers. You can buy them in bulk at your most health food stores. You can also purchase them online from sites such as eBay or Amazon.
- 2 cans of full fat organic coconut milk. You can find this in your local supermarket or easily online.
You don’t just have to use this for a bath – you could easily mix it with something such as a Goat’s Milk soap base and create quite an effective herbal bath soap. The fact that coconut milk is growing in popularity exponentially for moisturizing your skin and providing all around health benefits will make sure there is no shortage of recipes and usages going around on the Internet.
